Megan Landes and Kelley Aitken
This is a collaborative drawing/diptych with visual artist and poet, Kelley Aitken. In early Spring of 2021, during the COVID pandemic, Kelley’s mother, Barbara, died. While Kelley’s family sat with her mother in her condo for the last days of her life, we spoke frequently of what was to come during this end of life vigil. The image on mylar borrows from a pastel erasure drawing Kelley produced in the year following her mother’s death and Megan created the large-scale charcoal drawing of a chest X-ray to accompany it.
